You have probably heard people say you attract what you put out there… of feel that you deserve.
In other words, what you attract is a reflection of you. And, as a result, you become what you attract.
So, what types of people do you attract?
What types of situations tend to find you?
If you want to understand this better… start by looking at the company you keep.
Are they good people? Do they share similar beliefs and passion? Are they holding you back in some way?
Next, ask yourself if you are proud of the person you are today? Do you like who you are and what you’ve accomplished thus far?
If your answer to any of these questions is “no”… you may need to re-examine your beliefs, perceptions and goals in order to attract the right people and things in life.
In this article, I will provide 9 possible reasons for why you may not be the person you truly deserve to be.
1. You don't do self-examination.
The law of attraction states that what a person focuses on is what you attract in life. Therefore, it would be a good idea if you did an honest self-assessment of who you are.
Ask yourself this:
- Is the person I am today the cause of more harm than good in my life? If so, it is time to get rid of any negativity within you and allow only positive energy in, so that you can attract great things.
- Am I a good person who loves myself, has high principles and values… yet still attracts the wrong people? Even when you feel you are in a good place, your inner fears and a negative mindset can rear their ugly heads and play a significant role in determining who you are.
- Are you afraid of rejection? If so, you will attract people with low self-esteem and bullies.
- Are you unhappy with your life? If so, you are likely to settle for less than you deserve.
If you don’t believe that your dreams can come true, or that you are worthy of more, you likely won’t see a positive change.
If you want to change, it has to come from within yourself. A self–assessment can help you to determine what will bring you that change.
Knowing yourself will empower you… and by accepting who you are, you can become invincible!
Take a few minutes to watch the video below to learn about the five proven strategies that will help you become more self-aware and know yourself better:
2. You never learn from your past.
It is said that experience is the best teacher.
However, how often do we learn from our mistakes? Really?
If you are unsuccessful today, it's not that you can never be successful… but you need to stop repeating the same mistakes over and over again.
Do you want to have a successful relationship or succeed in your life?
Then you cannot allow your fears and emotions to take control of you.
Own up to your failures by learning from them and stop blaming others for those failures. No one can set you up for failure apart from yourself.
Determine which things and people aren't positive reinforcements in your life… and make the necessary changes. Carry out a daily self-care checklist to determine your progress in developing positive behavior.
For instance, if you earn a lot of money but have nothing to show for it… it may be time to review your spending behavior and make a budget you can live with. Perhaps increase your savings and investment goals.
Let the past be where you learned the lesson… and make your future where you apply the lesson.
3. You act less deserving.
How many times have you thought that you deserve less because of some personal limitations?
The truth is no one is perfect. But some people are successful irrespective of their shortcomings because of a positive attitude and mindset.
If you put it in your mind that you deserve less, you will always attract less.
However, knowing that you deserve better is also not enough. You need to stop allowing yourself to settle for less. Take action! If you believe you deserve better, then stop allowing your unconscious mind to settle for less.
You need to truly and honestly believe in what you deserve… and then develop actionable strategies to make it happen. Believe in your self-worth and fight for greatness.
For instance, some people believe they deserve better pay at their jobs. But how many of them actually do something to prove they deserve it?
How many of them have gone the extra mile to improve themselves and show their worth? Things like furthering their studies? Always maintaining a clean record with high performance? Taking very few personal or sick days? Staying late to finish a project or picking up extra shifts?
While life isn't easy for anyone, we must always maintain perspective and confidence in our abilities. If you want to get what you deserve, start acting like you deserve it. Believe that you are destined for greatness and you will receive it.
4. You fail to align your feelings and thoughts with your desires.
It is a possibility that you are what you attract because you do not align your thoughts with your desires.
Are the things you attract positive or negative? Does trouble seem to follow you all the time?
If bad things happen to you, it may be that you are a troubled person who mixes with the wrong crowd.
It all boils down to you.
If you want to change who you are, first identify what you attract in your life and then devise ways to make the necessary changes. Your life will not improve if you do not change how you perceive things, your environment, and yourself.
Cultivate positive feelings, emotions, and thoughts… aligning them with your desires. Irrespective of the challenges you might face in life, never let anything or anyone come between your goals!
Whenever you feel like you are losing and you wish to quit, remember that change is sometimes inevitable to get what you want from life.
Focus on the life you always imagined, visualize your dreams and do not give up. If you truly want a better life, it doesn't happen by chance but by change.
5. You do not believe that you need to change.
Are you wondering why your relationships never succeed? Do you ever blame yourself? Or do you typically find excuses to blame the other person?
The problem is that we never want to think that we might be the reason for a failed relationship.
It’s easier to blame people for our shortcomings.
But if you want to land in a happy relationship, you need to be honest with yourself first.
Since no one is perfect, what are your flaws? How have they impacted your past relationships?
Never be too proud to admit your flaws, especially to yourself.
If you are a failure, it is because you attract failure. Acknowledge these flaws and develop ways to mitigate them to attract success.
Some believe in change, but never put any effort towards achieving it. Change does not occur naturally… you need to put more effort into changing your beliefs and attitude and redirecting them towards finding a successful relationship.
6. Create a better version of you.
Are you desperately looking for your better half? Well, then it would be best if you found yourself first.
If you are a broken person, you will attract broken people.
You need to fall in love with yourself before anyone can love you the way you deserve and desire. Self-love is the first step towards attracting the right people into your life.
Acknowledge what needs changing within you and commit to making those changes happen. When you are a better version of yourself, you will attract people who truly love, respect, and are ready to improve you.
7. Likes attract likes.
You are what you attract because like attracts likes. In other words, you always find yourself attracted to people with the same personality traits as you.
If you are a pleasant person, you will attract happy people. However, if there is nothing that connects you, it may not possible to even be friends.
There has to be a common denominator that brings the two of you together.
If you are looking for an affectionate partner, you must be an affectionate partner too.
If you want a caring and hardworking mate, you must awaken those traits within you before searching for your better half.
Self-confidence is also essential in ensuring you achieve whatever positive vibes you put out there.
8. Your mindset.
Negativity results in negative results. If you set your mind for failure, you will fail.
Conversely, people who radiate positivity tend to attract people with the same level of energy and drive.
As we’ve discussed, likes attract like… so there is no way negative energy can attract positivity.
Would you like to have more positive-minded people into your life? Then you need to be more positive.
Shield your mind from negativity and focus on positivity. Even when life is challenging, always find a way to remain positive and happy.
You have a choice to make regarding the direction of your thoughts. Mindfulness can play a role in this. If you want greatness in your life, choose to be happy and always find something positive in life… even in your darkest days.
9. Let go of the future.
Just as you might want to let go of your past, you may need to let go of your future.
This doesn't mean you give up on your dreams, but you might need to tone down your ideals and get rid of your obsession with perfection.
Your mind is only conditioned to handle daily pressures… one day at a time, they say. It is not prepared to handle issues that may come up months, or even years, from now.
Today is what it is. Tomorrow is uncertain… so why stress over it now? Let it go!
If you obsess about the future, you will become anxious and end up not meeting your goals today.
Final Thoughts on Why You Are What You Attract
Everything you attract on the outside is a reflection of who you are on the inside.
If you want happiness, love, financial success, fame… you have to be prepared to change some things. You need to be willing to adapt when and if it is called for.
